Immutability as Concurrency Strategy

Immutable data can be freely shared between threads without synchronization because it cannot change. Concurrent modifications are impossible by construction. This trades memory (copies or persistent structures) for simplicity and safety.

Tension Addressed

Isolation vs. Performance, Explicit vs. Implicit Coordination

Recognizable As

Persistent data structures, copy-on-write semantics, functional programming patterns in concurrent contexts. If data is created once and never modified, concurrent access is inherently safe.
